Meals

Iași boasts a lively culinary scene, blending traditional Romanian flavours with modern European cuisine.

International students who live on-campus may choose to cook their own meals in the shared kitchens which are featured in most of our student residences.

We also strongly recommend eating on campus, where meals are both tasty and significantly more affordable than eating out. You can choose between the Titu Maiorescu cafeteria or one of the university’s three restaurants: Gaudeamus, located slightly uphill from the main campus; Akademos, at the foot of Copou Hill; and Casa Universitarilor, just a short walk from the university’s main building. The campus also hosts two cozy cafés: the Orest Tafrali bookstore café, perfect for a quiet break among books, and the lively Erasmus Café, a popular meeting spot for international and local students alike.

For a more refined dining experience, we recommend exploring the many restaurants in the city centre and the Copou area, all conveniently located within easy reach of UAIC.
