Science Battle is a cheerful competition between several European universities that highlights how researchers approach a new problem. Teams of researchers from various universities, including the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, will receive the same question from the public and will compete to find the most interesting answer.
The event takes place on September 30, between 16:00 and 19:00.
If you want to participate in person, we invite you to be part of the audience and cheer for the researchers! Come to: International Relations Office, Building A, 1st floor.
We invite you to see and support the researchers from Iași, who will enter the competition against those from the Universities of Coimbra, Jena, and Salamanca!
The UAIC team consists of: Lecturer Corina Barbaros, PhD (Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences), Lecturer Lucian Fusu, PhD (Biology), ACS Laura Hroștea (Department of Exact and Natural Sciences), Lecturer Alexandru Maxim, PhD (FEAA), Assoc. Prof. Brîndușa Alina Petre, PhD (Chemistry), and Lecturer Lucian Roșu, PhD (Geography).
The goal of SciBattle is to highlight researchers, the way they think, and to demystify the sometimes unapproachable image that academics can have. Although presented as a competition, the spirit is non-competitive. The true aim is to show how scientists approach new dilemmas and how various disciplines can contribute to an answer. Even when it is unlikely that the questions will be solved within the allotted time, the goal is to show how researchers tackle a new challenge.
Between April 4–7, 2022, students from the EC2U alliance universities (https://ec2u.eu/) will gather in Pavia to discover new development opportunities, acquire new entrepreneurship skills, and develop their ability to work in an international team.
Three UAIC students can participate in the event, regardless of their field of study, and travel costs will be covered by the EC2U project budget.
Register by February 20: https://forms.office.com/r/27xEdhyEjq
